Back Again! Welcome back my dear readers and subscribers, Well it's been a long time since my previous posts and I was busy held up in some of my other works but I am sure that I haven't forgotten you guys. More on Resources Welcome back, We have discussed about the various types of resources in detail and this discussion will be a never-ending session. But I would like to give some more information on the resources we have. Basically, a resources is nothing but, what we get. For instances, if you don't have a pencil and if you get one suddenly, then that maybe the resource. So, there are some other types of resources that I am yet to discuss. More on Hydro Power Plant Welcome back, in my last post, I have introduced about the hydro power plant, now let us see in depth. To start with, let us know the types of hydro power plants currently working in India. Impoundment Facilities are the most common ones in India. Here the energy is generated by using a reservoir in a dam. Energy is generated when water passes through the turbines. Pumped Storage Facilities, the name itself defines that it is utilized for energy storage. They have two reservoirs and the water is pumped from the lower to the upper reservoir and thereby energy is stored. The last and foremost methodology is the Run off Facility. They rely mostly on the speed of flowing water. A part of the water is diverted to the turbines and this is how the energy is generated. Munnar( Kerala) Called the 'Kashmir of South India', Munnar is in the Idukki district of Kerala. It is better to call it so and this also falls under the category of hill station. Munnar is about 1600 metres above sea level, situated at the Western Ghats mountain range.
