Water Based Resources

 Hydro Power Plant
What is Hydro Power Plant?
Well, the hydro Power Plant or station is the conversion of kinetic energy to potential energy then to electrical energy, due to the falling of water, across the dam. Usually, long turbines are used to generate the electricity. This process is basically considered as a renewable source of energy because the water cycle is constantly renewed by the sun. The turbine is connected to a large electromagnetic generator which generates the electrical energy when the turbines spin. Hydro power is the largest contributor than all the other generation programs currently working in India. It also accounts for 6.7% of the electricity produced all around the world.
Why Hydro Power Plant?
Hydro Power Plants are abundant, low cost for source of power despite high building costs. It is reliable sources of energy as it can be stored over a long period of time and then used.
Why not?
As discussed before, it is time and money consuming matter. Also, it occupies a lot of space for the reservoir, for which the people living and performing their livelihood have to be displaced and find a place to survive. The vegetation cover surrounding the place have to be cut either or get submerged under anaerobic conditions which would ensure the release of methane gas, also a greenhouse gas, as you know this may lead to global warming. And at times ecosystems have to be destroyed when submerged.
What about in India?
In India, the major dams releasing hydro electricity are Vaigai Dam, Mettur Dam, Amaravathi Dam and the Papanasam Dam.
So, this is what I've got for you in this page and I will simultaneously be discussing about tourism too, subscribe, follow, post your comments and enjoy your day.
